The SFZF has been invited to host a special zine space at the Treasure Island Music Festival, Sept. 20 +21. We are going to be setting up a fun, vintage-style library room stocked with some of our favorite mini-comics and zines for all you festival-goers to take a look at. Nothing will be for sale, just 100+ fantastic small press creations to "check out" and our staff of stylish zine librarians to help you find something fun to read while you take a break from rocking out! Drop by if you are there (tickets are still available... it's a great line-up!) and say hi!

If you were at the 2008 SFZF, you probably couldn't miss Myleen Hollero and her Hollerotron Photo Booth, snapping glamorous shots of our many exhibitors, attendees, and passers-by... well, now you can see the pics here! Well, today is the big day! Can't wait to see you at the Fest... the doors will be open from 11:00am - 8:00pm on Saturday, 11:00am - 7:00pm om Sunday! As always, the Zine Fest is FREE and open to the public... Don't miss over 100 DIY creators, hands-on workshops, intriguing panels, and so much more... The biggest, best Fest yet!

We still have a few exhibitor tables left for the 2008 SFZF, but they are going fast! If you are interested in getting a table, we are asking that we recieve all applications and payments by Friday, July 11 for inclusion in our program and exhibit hall map! You may send us your application electronically in order to get it to us right away (sfzinefest@gmail.com), but we will need to receive final payment in order to secure your space for you!
If you have already sent in your application via mail, you should be in good shape. We will e-mail confirmed exhibitors as we list them on our Exhibitors page. Thank you to everyone who is making the Zine Fest the biggest and best ever!

SFZF is proud to be partnering with Mission Creek Music & Arts Festival as they present their 12th year of terrific independent music and more! Dozens of great bands will be playing at venues both big and small throughout the city leading up to and during Zine Fest weekend, July 16 - July 20. This is an amazing chance to see up-and-coming performers from the Bay Area and beyond! Please check out their website for show schedules, artist bios, and much more.

Potential exhibitors, take note: The deadline for "early-bird" table registration is Monday, June 16! Please have your application post-markedby that date, or you will be required to pay the full rate of $80/full, $40/half! We still have plenty of tables, but if you want the discounted rate, get you application and check in the mail this weekend!

In other news, check out our Workshops & Events page for our ever-expanding slate of events, including "Cheap City: The Show", a hillarious comics/ comedy show from Michael Capozzola on Thursday, July 17; and "From the Horse's Mouth", a comics reading at the Cartoon Art Museumfeaturing an amazing, all-star line up, on Friday, July 18. The Zine Fest is too big for just the weekend!

At the Zine Fest itself, you'll be able to enjoy hands-on workshops on bookbinding, screenprinting, a nature walk, a screening of the short documentary Grrlyshow, and even a kick ball game! Yes!

What's that over on your starboard side? Why, it's our wonderful poster art by Special Guest Vanessa Davis! Hooray!
Vanessa is the creator of the beloved Spaniel Rage, works for fancy places like the New York Times, and still self-publishes her mini-comics, too! Watch out for a Q + A panel with Vanessa at the SFZF! We're thrilled!

Table registration for the 2008 SF Zine Fest is officially open! The SFZF welcomes zinesters, small-press cartoonists, and DIY creators of all stripes! With full 6' tables available for just $60 and half tables for just $30 before June 15, the SFZF is a fantastic chance to sell, trade, or otherwise share your work with a larger audience than ever before, in a beautiful new location!

With the idea of exposing DIY zines, comics, and crafts to the widest possible audience, we decided to move the Fest yet again to a location where a larger and more diverse group of attendees could find us. The SF County Fair Building is over twice the size of last year's location, and is located in beautiful Golden Gate Park, just a block off of 9th Ave. and Lincoln. We are expecting more attendees and exhibitors than ever this year.

This year due to popular demand the SF Zine Fest will once again be over a full weekend, with longer hours overall as well!

Zine Fest is returning! The San Francisco Zine Fest will be returning for our seventh annual celebration of small press, zines, comics, and all things DIY in an even bigger and better new location: The San Francisco County Fair Building, Lincoln Way at 9th Avenue in beautiful Golden Gate Park (the location of the recent Bizarre Bazaar and the annual Anarchist Book Fair). This year the Zine Fest will boast over twice the exhibition space as last year, and is sure to be bigger, better, and busier than ever! Special guests, exhibitors, workshops, and so much more; in a gorgeous and relaxing environment! And just like always, admission will be FREE. The SFZF will be open on both Saturday and Sunday this year, too!
